Description

A quick and refreshing apple tuna salad that combines the flavors of tuna, crisp apples, and crunchy vegetables, perfect for a light meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 medium apple, diced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work great)
  • ¼ cup celery, chopped
  • ¼ cup red onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Ingredients: Dice the apple, celery, and red onion. Drain tuna well and flake with a fork.
  2. Mix the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Combine Everything: In a large mixing bowl, add tuna, chopped apple, celery, onion, and walnuts. Pour dressing over the top and mix gently until evenly coated.
  4. Chill and Serve: Chill in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes before serving for the best flavor. Serve on a bed of lettuce, as a sandwich, or with crackers.

Notes

  • Serve on whole grain bread for a satisfying sandwich.
  • Add to lettuce cups for a low-carb lunch.
  • Enjoy with crackers or pita chips as a light snack.
