Description

Delicious baked ham and cheese croissants, perfect for a quick meal or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 croissants (fresh or day-old)
  • 8 slices deli ham (honey, smoked, or black forest)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese (or Gruyère, cheddar, or provolone)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional glaze)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional glaze)
  • ½ tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional glaze)
  • ½ tsp poppy seeds (optional glaze)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional glaze)
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted (optional glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Slice croissants in half horizontally. Layer on each bottom half: 1–2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese. Place the top halves back on.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and poppy seeds. Brush the tops of each croissant generously with this glaze.
  4. Place the croissants on your prepared baking sheet or dish. Cover lightly with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5–7 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  5. Let them cool for a minute, then serve warm and melty. Perfect with a light salad, soup, or a side of fruit.

Notes

  • For a breakfast version, add scrambled eggs and use cheddar instead of Swiss.
  • For a sweet-savory twist, brush croissants with maple butter before baking.
  • For mini party sliders, use mini croissants for bite-sized snacks — great for gatherings!
  • Make-ahead: Assemble, wrap tightly, and refrigerate overnight. Bake fresh the next day.
