Description

A simple and delicious banana bread recipe that is perfect for using up ripe bananas.


Ingredients

  • 23 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or ¾ cup if you prefer sweeter)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 loaf pan or line with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add baking soda, salt, and flour. Mix gently until just combined (don’t overmix).
  4. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool before slicing and enjoy warm with butter or toasted!

Notes

  • For a sweeter bread, increase sugar to ¾ cup.
