Description

Deliciously chewy cookies made from chocolate cake mix, perfect for a quick and easy treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or 1/2 cup melted butter for richer cookies)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract, flaky sea salt, or 2 tbsp cocoa powder for extra chocolate flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mix with a spatula or hand mixer until a thick, sticky dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips. If your dough feels too soft, chill for 10 minutes.
  3. Scoop 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, roll lightly into a ball, and place on your baking sheet, leaving space between the cookies. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top.
  4. Bake for 10–12 minutes. The cookies should look soft in the center—they will firm up as they cool.
  5. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • Soft & gooey at 10 minutes, thick & chewy at 11–12 minutes.
  • Don’t overbake—cake-mix cookies dry out fast.
  • Store in an airtight container for 4–5 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • For variations, consider adding white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or crushed Oreos.
