Description

A delicious recipe for molten lava cake with a rich chocolate center.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz dark chocolate
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and grease two ramekins with butter.
  2. Melt 4 oz dark chocolate with 4 tbsp butter until smooth and glossy then let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl whisk 2 eggs with 1/4 cup sugar until pale and slightly thick.
  4. Slowly whisk melted chocolate into egg mixture then add vanilla, salt, and flour mixing gently.
  5. Divide batter evenly between ramekins and place on baking tray.
  6. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft then rest 1 minute before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to grease the ramekins well to prevent sticking.
  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality dark chocolate.
