Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla or funfetti cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup holiday sprinkles
  • For the frosting:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Extra holiday sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter (or oil), eggs, and vanilla. Stir until a soft, thick dough forms. Fold in sprinkles and white chocolate chips.
  2. Chill the dough in the fridge for 20–30 minutes to help keep them thick and puffy.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 9–11 minutes until the edges are set but the centers still look soft. Cool completely before frosting.
  4. Beat softened butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar gradually. Mix in vanilla, cream, and a pinch of salt. Whip until smooth, creamy, and spreadable.
  5. Slather thick frosting on each cookie and add sprinkles for decoration.
