- 1 box vanilla or funfetti cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1/2 cup melted butter (or vegetable oil)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/4 cup holiday sprinkles
- For the frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Extra holiday sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter (or oil), eggs, and vanilla. Stir until a soft, thick dough forms. Fold in sprinkles and white chocolate chips.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for 20–30 minutes to help keep them thick and puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 9–11 minutes until the edges are set but the centers still look soft. Cool completely before frosting.
- Beat softened butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar gradually. Mix in vanilla, cream, and a pinch of salt. Whip until smooth, creamy, and spreadable.
- Slather thick frosting on each cookie and add sprinkles for decoration.
