Description

Delicious beef-filled puff pastry pies, perfect for a party or a tasty snack!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (80/20 mix)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until the meat is no longer pink and onions are translucent.
  2. Stir in salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Simmer for a few minutes until fragrant.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into squares large enough to hold about two tablespoons of filling.
  4. Place two tablespoons of cooled beef mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold into triangles and crimp edges to seal.
  5. Whisk egg with a splash of water and brush over each pie.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
