Description
A quick and easy recipe for creamy garlic pasta made in one pot, perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 12 oz (340 g) penne or any short pasta
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley or fresh chopped parsley
- Extra Parmesan for serving
Instructions
- In a large deep skillet or pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, not browned.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Add the dry pasta and stir well to ensure all pasta is covered. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low. Let the pasta cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick. Cook until the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens naturally.
- Remove from heat and add the grated Parmesan. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sauce becomes creamy and coats the pasta.
- Top with extra Parmesan and parsley before serving. Enjoy warm.
Notes
- For extra richness, add 2 oz cream cheese while the pasta simmers.
- For protein, mix in grilled chicken, bacon, or shrimp.
- If the sauce gets too thick, stir in a splash of broth or cream.
