A quick and easy recipe for creamy garlic pasta made in one pot, perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 12 oz (340 g) penne or any short pasta
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley or fresh chopped parsley
  • Extra Parmesan for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large deep skillet or pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant, not browned.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Add the dry pasta and stir well to ensure all pasta is covered. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Let the pasta cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally so it doesn’t stick. Cook until the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens naturally.
  4. Remove from heat and add the grated Parmesan. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sauce becomes creamy and coats the pasta.
  5. Top with extra Parmesan and parsley before serving. Enjoy warm.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add 2 oz cream cheese while the pasta simmers.
  • For protein, mix in grilled chicken, bacon, or shrimp.
  • If the sauce gets too thick, stir in a splash of broth or cream.
