Description
Sausage French Toast Roll-ups are a delicious and fun breakfast idea that combines savory sausage with sweet French toast, perfect for a family breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 breakfast sausage links
- 8 slices sandwich bread (white or brioche works best)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook sausage links in a skillet until browned and cooked through. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Trim crust from each slice of bread. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice completely. Place one sausage link on the edge of a flattened bread slice. Roll bread tightly around the sausage and pinch seam to seal.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk/cream, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar (optional).
- Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each roll-up in egg mixture (coat fully but don’t soak too long). Cook roll-ups seam-side down first until golden. Rotate and cook all sides until browned and crisp.
Notes
- Use brioche or potato bread for softer roll-ups.
- Freeze cooked roll-ups for quick breakfasts — reheat in air fryer/toaster oven.
- Add a touch of brown sugar to egg mix for a sweeter crust.
